Sludge dewatering

Sludge is formed in various cleaning processes (flotation, sedimentation, etc.). Sludge can be biological or chemical. In both cases, it is quite liquid, so it is necessary to dewater it in order to reduce the volume of sludge, improve transportability, and possibilities of use.

Dewatering is carried out using various presses, centrifuges, etc. with the help of drainage equipment.

The dewatering process is almost impossible without the help of flocculants.

With flocculants, the dry material is separated from the liquid, so the dewatering equipment works much more efficiently.

The separated water is additionally cleaned, and the dry material can be deposited or composted in biogas production facilities.

Sludge separation

It is a process of sludge dewatering using flocculants and dewatering equipment.

Used equipment: belt presses, decanters, special conveyors, etc.

During separation, under the action of flocculants and mechanical force, the liquid and dry sludge phases are separated.

Sludge flotation

The wastewater treatment process, during which, special flotation equipment is used and, usually using coagulants and flocculants, the dry part of the contaminated water is separated.

With the help of air in the flotation device, pollutants are lifted up and removed with the help of a special rake.

The pumped sludge is further processed or separated, the purified water goes to further stages of the cleaning process.

Flocculants

Organic flocculants are widely used for many waste water, drinking water, polluted liquids treatment. Also dewatering of variuous sludges is almost impossible without flocculants usage.

Flocculants can be solid or liquid.
